Councillor Ken JohnstonKen Johnston, a Richmond resident since 1976, was first elected to Richmond City Council in 1993 and served until 2001. From 2001 to 2005, he served as a member of the Legislative Assembly of BC representing the provincial riding of Vancouver-Fraserview. On November 15, 2008, Ken was again elected to Richmond City Council.
A Certified General Accountant, Ken is President of Novex Delivery Solutions, a Richmond-based delivery company serving the lower mainland.
Ken is Vice Chair of the Community Safety Committee and a member of the General Purposes; Finance; Public Works and Transportation and the Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services Committee. He is also the Council representative to the following advisory committees, organizations and community associations: the Economic Advisory Committee, E-Comm (alternate); the Richmond Traffic and Transportation Advisory Committee, the Spirit of BC Richmond Community Committee, the Tourism Richmond Association; and the Hamilton Community Association.
Ken is an avid Senior Soccer Player and Youth Soccer referee, Chair of the Soccer competition for the 2009 BC Seniors Games to be held in Richmond, and a Director of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Vancouver.
